I value my customers and want them to enjoy and treasure the jewellery for generations to come. You are always welcome to visit and have your jewellery professionally cleaned, polished and re-oxidized free of charge.

Taking good care of your jewellery will enhance its beauty and I encourage you to have your jewellery checked and cleaned by me or your trusted local jeweller. This will ensure a good condition with all gemstones in place. It is not uncommon for stones to come loose over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than replace a lost one.

  • I recommend you take off your jewellery before showering, swimming in a pool or the ocean and avoid contact with harsh chemicals and beauty products.

  • Especially the re cycled pieces with antique materials, silk and softer stones such as opal, coral & pearls should not be emerged in water and only be cleaned dry. Simply wipe them gently with a jewellery cleaning cloth.

  • Other jewellery will benefit from being cleaned on a regular basis with warm soapy water and a soft small brush and dried with a soft cloth.

  • Some of my silver jewellery is purposely oxidized with a thin layer of black coating, that will be worn off with time.

  • Silver jewellery without plating will naturally tarnish and oxidise over time and will need to be cleaned and polished after a while. While not wearing them, I recommend you keep them in an air tight jewellery box.

  • Gold pieces with rhodium plating, with exposure to hand sanitiser with alcohol can eventually get a spotted surface.

If you have any questions or concerns about cleaning your jewellery, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

How To Care For Your Pearls

Enjoy and wear them as often as possible. Pearls keep the luster and benefit  from absorbing the oils on your skin. You can gently wipe pearls with a soft cloth to remove  perfume, excess oils or dirt before putting them away & should be stored away from other objects or jewellery that may scratch their surfaces.

Please keep pearls away from any chemicals, vinegar, perfume and cosmetics, since these can damage the pearl surface. Pearls should be stored away from other objects or jewellery that may scratch their surfaces. Wrap the pearls in linen, soft cloth, or place in a soft pouch.

Do not submerge your pearls in water - no showers, no dishes, no swimming. The chlorine in the water will eat away at the epoxy securing the pearls to their mountings, and soaking the silk your pearls are strung on causes it to stretch out and break early .And please void hanging the pearl necklace for on a hook for storage; this places unnecessary strain on the silk and stretches out the necklace.

It is a Good idea to restring pearls once every two to three years. Be sure to have each pearl knotted separately, preferably with silk, so they do not rub together and wear on the pearl nacre.
